There will be a technology night on Thursday, December 4th from 5:30-6:30. You will be shown some websites that you can use to help your child in reading. The presentation will start in the library where they will have pizza and an introduction to the websites. The computer lab will be available for you to visit some of the sites and see what they are like. It should be a fun evening. Please return the yellow slip to show how many people will be attending so we can order to right amount of food. Hope you can make it!
Yearbook Pre-Orders started today. I will be sending home a letter with an envelope for you to use if you plan ordering a yearbook. Please send the envelope with the money back to me and I can get it to the correct person. Pre-Orders are $15.00. The yearbook has 40 pages of all color photos. The cover will be designed by one of our students at the Village. Please make checks or money orders payable to Early Learning Village.
The students will be doing their Native American performance tomorrow November 25th, at 1:25. The performance should only last until 2:00. They have worked extremely hard on this performance and are very excited. We hope to see you there!
We are planning a field trip for December the 12th. We will be going to the History Museum and to KSU to watch the Kentucky Children’s Theater performance of “If You Take a Mouse to the Movies”. The cost for the trip will be $10.00. I wanted to let you know a little early so you can start planning on saving for the trip. More detailed information will be going home after Thanksgiving Break.
I had great plans to put pictures up here, but when I take the pictures they are coming out very poorly. I am going to have my husband help me and see if it is operator error, or the camera!! Until then, I know several have asked for examples. I am going to put what I wrote in my book, and then of course you can put any pictures or drawings in the pockets of the books.

Page 1: When I was a baby I could crawl, sleep, and eat with my mom and dad’s help. I needed my parents help with so many things. (Pictures on the page and in the pocket show crawling, eating, and sleeping.)
Page 2: When I started school I could do lots more things. I could tie my shoes, read books, write my name, and say my ABC’s. I could also count and name my colors.
Page3: Now I can read bigger books. I can drive my car and cook my own dinner. I have really changed since I was a baby. I can do so many new things. I am STILL learning to do new things!
Of course you can put anything you want. You can also add any detail you would like to add to make the book more personal!

Reminder that picture retakes are Thursday. If you need to have pictures done because you missed them or did not like how the others came out let me know so that I can get you an envelope if you need one.
I need a couple of people to help me make some books for a home project I would like to the kids to work on. The books are very simple to make. If you think you would be available sometime Friday or Monday please let me know and I can get the materials ready.
We are going to start talking about change over time, and I would like the kids to make a book showing how they have changed over time. Things they could do when they were little, and then how they changed as they grew. The books are made out of paper bags and so you will have the pockets to put pictures or drawings of themselves doing those things. Sort of a timeline, just in book form! Thank you in advance!!
Picture retakes will be November 20th at 10:30. If you missed the first picture day and would like to get pictures this time please let me know so I can get the pre-paid envelope to you. If you took pictures but are not happy with them, simply return the whole package of pictures to the photographer and they will retake those pictures.
Our music teacher, Ms. Burnett, wrote a school song for us. The lyrics are listed below. Have your child sing it, they should know it! I am hoping to put a sound file up on the website soon so that you can hear them singing it.
