Number Words
One the first day of school… this week we practiced our writing our number words. We created our own book about the Twelve Days of School during listening center. Number words went up on the word wall so that we can use them to write all year. We created another useful chart through interactive writing.
The first few weeks we will be reviewing our names, colors and number words. We will begin our WOW spelling test on high frequency words about three weeks after school begins. After a word has been a WOW word it is expected to be spelled correctly in all writing for the remainder of the year. WOW words will be left on the Word Wall and students are encouraged to revisit them if needed.
Homework will involve stories and writing centered around the WOW words.
Here is our class pet! A turtle named Mac. He is a 13 year old box turtle who loves to go for a swim.
