Personal Statements- Self Portraits/ 2,3,4 Grade students

Personal statements 22 April, 2009   Breckenridge Franklin Elementary

These will go on their self-portraits being done in art. When we meet again, we’ll keep polishing them until the kids are happy with them.   I am reminded of  this quote every  time I work with students on this project:”And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds, they are immune to your consultations, they’re quite aware of what they’re going through…”

If animals are harmed we should help them. I also believe that there should be peace and please and babies must be cared for.

I believe that I can learn.

I believe that everybody should have somewhere to live.

I believe that there can be peace.

I believe that kids should have safe places to live.

I believe that babies should be in hospitals if they need to be and be taken care of.

I believe that people around the world should be cared for if they are sick.

I believe that bossy people maybe should not be so bossy.

I believe that at night, there should not be any shooting killing or fighting in neighborhoods.

I believe if an animal is harmed, we should help it.

I believe we have the responsibility not to litter. I believe we have a responsibility to help people who have to live outside. I have the right to sit where I want to on the bus.

I have the right to go to school and have a good education. I have the right to vote someday. My responsibility is to get a good job and I’ll be able to take care of myself.

I said I will NOT fight in any wars. We have to stop these wars.

Samantha Smith wrote a letter to a president and told him that everyone should stop fighting. Woody Guthrie said to open the door to the other people and let them come in or he would not sing. Rosa Parks sat in the seat by the white or black people. She sat where she wanted. They can all choose to do those things.

My belief

My religion is God and Jesus. My responsibility at home is to take out and recycle and help take care of my hamster.

My responsibility is to take care of the Earth h. I have the right not to have air that is poisoned. My responsibility is to get exercise. I have the right to stay healthy.

We need to help people who live on the street. We don’t’ need to kill people. We need to take care of animals.

Part One:

One thing I believe is not to fight.

Another thing I believe is to help homeless people.

Another thing is to bring black and white people together.

Part Two:

One thing I believe in is to keep people safe.

Another thing I believe in is for people to live on this earth.

Another thing I believe in for all people to have a job and be in school to learn and to grow up and just be a good person.

We should help people on the street so they can feel better.

Help people on the roads.

Help people in wars.

We have the right to stop the war.

I want peace. No threatening. No violence.

I have a responsibility not to be bossy. I have a responsibility to help people on the street and stop war! NO WAR!

Responsibility is not to litter. I believe the wars should stop. Please, black and white people, stop fighting. Stop polluting the ocean. Stop cutting down a tree: it is our air.

This is to Mr. Robert Shetterly. IMPORTANT!

We should help people, give pets a home and recycle.

I think our responsibility is to help save the Earth. If we don’t’, then our Mother Earth will soon be filled with trash and our earth will be out of energy and it will stop rotating. Everyone will die and our Mother Earth planet will be gone. NO, WE WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. Everyone should be friends. Love the earth.

One thing I believe is to give people homes. Give people a school. We have the right to go to school. We have the responsibility to do the homework. I believe we should stop cutting down trees and stop littering.

My statement is to tell you  to care about everything you do.

Some people want a world where it is peace. I believe we have the right to live in a world where we don’t kill or fight. Rosa Parks had the right to sit where she wanted on the bus. I believe we have the responsibility to save the homeless and stop war.
