Hello. My name is Laura Kehrt and I am the 4th grade teacher at Woodford Christian School. I have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and am about 9 hours shy of a MBA as well. I have taught at WCS since 2003. Prior to that, I homeschooled 3 of my children in grades 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
I have worked with children since the age of 15 when I was hired as an assistant swim coach at the former Lansdowne Club (currently known as the Signature Club.) Since that time, I have coached swimming for over 10 years and well over 300 swimmers. My goal for every child, whether in school or in swimming, is to maximize their potential and to help instill in them the desire to succeed to the best of their ability. I believe that strength in character is equally as important to anything we may do in the classroom.
I have 6 children - 1 daughter and 5 sons - and feel very blessed to be their mother. I also treasure being part of the WCS community and am honored to be entrusted with your child.
