I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving - grateful for the many blessings we have been given. I enjoyed spending time with family and all my children. I am truly grateful for each of them and the joy they have brought into my life. We also spent Saturday driving to Knoxville to watch the UK/UT football game. Not much enjoyment in the game - but it was a nice trip with the family.
We are 3 weeks away from Christmas break - so hard to believe!! I will do my best to schedule all tests and quizzes to finish up at the end of the these 3 weeks so we aren’t coming back to tests and quizzes. This week we have the following:
Tuesday - History test
Thursday - Language quiz
Friday - Math quiz
We have 2 field trips this week. We will be going to the Planterium in Richmond on Tuesday. We will be taking buses. Due to limited space, this is not a family field trip. We will leave at 8:30 and be back by 11:30 - so we will still have PE. We are also going to Gattitown on Thursday to do a ‘math’ field trip which will also incorporate a little fun. :) We will leave at 9:30 and return by the end of the school day. Hopefully after Bethlehem Revisited, our schedule will return to its regular schedule. We have been anxiously watching the ‘walls go up’ for Bethlehem and I encourage families to attend this wonderful production. Much time and energies have gone into making it a showcase for the community and bring a little of ‘Bethlehem’ to our lives.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. The students are doing so well and I am so proud of their efforts!

Thankfully, we have a short week this week. I didn’t get much sleep over the weekend, so I am as thankful as a Pilgrim to get a few extra days of rest this weekend. That will be a blessing!
I heard the children did wonderfully at the Thanksgiving dinner on Friday. I hope you were as proud of them as I have been. They love to learn and love to share with others their talents. They are a smart groups of students with big hearts for the Lord. Aren’t we thankful for that?!
We have the following tests and quizzes this week:
Monday - History quiz and Science quiz
Tuesday - Math test
Make sure to get your field trip permissions slips in this week. The deadline for the Gattitown trip is Tuesday, Dec. 2nd. Please note if you can drive and how many students you can take. Just an FYI..because the church will be in the midst of Bethlehem Revisited next week, we will have a few changes. Currently, we are now entering from the front of the church and the students and parents are NOT to use the side hallway beside the fellowship hall. If you need to come to the classroom, please come through the preschool hall.
I hope each of you have a very blessed holiday with family and friends, enjoying good fellowship and delicous food!
Safe travels to everyone travelling and I look forward to a rested body and mind come next week. Pray for safe travels for us as we travel to Knoxville for the UK/UT game (and GO BIG BLUE!).
Happy Thanksgiving and give thanks with a grateful heart! We have much to be thankful for - your children will be included in MY list!

Well, this is the last full week of school before Thanksgiving. The year is certainly going by quickly! The students are doing wonderfully - probably the best class I’ve had in terms of adjusting to a new, harder regimen. I am very proud of them!
Test and quiz schedule:
Tuesday - Math quiz, Language quiz, and History quiz
Wednesday - Bible test, Language test
Thursday - Science quiz
Friday night is the school’s Thanksgiving Dinner. Thank you for all parents who are attending and bringing your child(ren). Unfortunately, I will not be there due to a prior commitment on that date - but our class will be reciting the entire chapter of Isaiah 53. You won’t want to miss it and you will be so impressed with your child. They are wonderful Bible verse learners! The dinner is at VERSAILLES BAPTIST CHURCH located on Main Street.
Next week we will have a math test on Tuesday and some finishing work in Language. If you are not going to be here on Tuesday, please let me know so that I can give out the math test on Monday and collect the Language work.
Thanks to all parents, too, for taking time to meet with me for our mandatory first 9-week parent/teacher conference. It was wonderful to get to share with you about your child as well as gain insight into them from you. Thank you for entrusting them to me - they are a blessing!

Monday will be our ‘Physics Is Fun’ workshop - an in-school field trip. I appreciate all of the parents who have volunteered to help run some of the areas. The students would not have availability to this workshop if it were not for your assistance. We really appreciate it!
Test and Quizzes this week:
Tuesday - History quiz, math test
Wednesday - History Test
Friday - Science Test
Thank you, too, to all of you who took time out of your busy schedules to meet with me regarding your child. As a teacher, it is very beneficial to gain additional insight into your student and I am thankful I have an entire classroom of supportive, interested parents. Your children are blessed.
I hope to have current grades put into Teacherease this week.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I appreciate your efforts in helping me get these completed.

We will be having a Physics Lab field trip on November 10th at the school. If you can volunteer any time, please let Mrs. Roseberry know. Information was included in the Thursday folder and can be found on the school website under newsletters.
Don’t forget to vote on November 4th. We will be doing a mock election at school and all the students have ‘registered’ - just once. Acorn was not allowed on the premises!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Enjoy this first week of November!

We had a good week of school winding up our first 9 week grading period. I know the students were disappointed about not being able to go to the Boyd Orchard’s field trip - but we did do a little craft and read an interesting book on Henry Hudson sent in by Dillon. The kids made the best of the day!
This week our test schedule is as follows:
Tuesday: Math Test, history quiz
Wednesday: Science Test, language quiz
Friday: 9-week history test
As always, I will send home review sheets with your child. They may turn them in to me and I will mark their answers to ensure they are studying the correct material. If your child will do this - it almost guarantees an A on the test. It is most helpful if YOU will study with them at this stage of their development.
I will need to meet with each parent to discuss your child’s first 9-weeks of school. When I get to school tomorrow, I will post available times. Please let me know asap which time would work for you. I have to have them completed by November 7th.
Feel free to call or email if you have any particular questions or concerns. I think we’ve gotten into a good routine and the students are making good adjustments to everything!

Two things:
1. Report cards will go home next Thursday - October 30. Parent-Teacher conferences are still required and will be scheduled from Oct. 30 - November 7th. I wil send sign-up sheets in this week’s Thursday folder.
2. The Boyd Orchard field trip will be CANCELLED in the event of rain. All money will be reimbursed if this happens. However, please turn in your permission slip and money in hopes of a good weather day! Students may dress in Spirit Day attire.
Thanks!

Well, whether we’re ready or not - it’s back to school on Monday. I have to say that I thought of the students daily as we came across so many things we have been studying. I wish they all could have come with us - it would have been an exciting and educational ‘field trip.’!!! They’ll probably come home with some of the stories I am bound to share with them this week.
Test and quizzes will be as follows:
Tuesday - Science quiz
Wednesday - Language quiz, history quiz
Friday - History test
I will have all grades updated in Teacherease by the end of the day. The 9 weeks ends this week and report cards will be given out at the parent-teacher conferences that are required after the end of the first 9 weeks. I will send home a sign-up. For the most part, the time slots will be during the school day, but if there is no way you can come during the day, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
The Boyd Orchards field trip is this Friday. Permission slips and money are due on Wednesday. Please make sure this is sent in timely so that your child may attend. Parents and siblings are welcome to meet us there. If your child had ordered hot lunch for that day - their lunch will be provided. If not, please send a sack lunch with your child.
Hot lunch orders are due this week. I emailed a copy to everyone in the event they did not get one - please let me know if you need another copy and I will send it to you.
Hope each of you enjoyed a relaxing, safe, and enjoyable break. I am personally thankful for the much-needed rest, but am looking forward to seeing everyone this week!
