Friday Night At The Movies
On Friday I sent home a letter about our class basket to sell at a silent auction. Our theme is “Friday Night At the Movies.” Suggested donations include: Family friendly DVDs (new), movie theatre certificates, popcorn, movie theatre style candy, popcorn bowl, etc. If you would be willing to donate any of the above items I would appreciate it greatly. Be sure to send in your items by October 10th! I can’t wait to see how wonderful our basket turns out and how much money it will raise for Northside!!

Take a look at our picture page to see what we have been up to lately. Included are pictures from our surprise family visit, our community walk, and making pizzas to be producers and consumers. Be sure to take a look at how busy we have been!
Also, be sure to check back often to “look” at what we are doing in the classroom. I hope to post pictures on a regular basis.

Hello everyone in cyber space! This letter was sent home Friday about our Book Bag program that we will be starting on September 8, 2008. I thought that I would post it here as well in case it was lost, the dog ate it, or it just didn’t make it home! (I hope you sense the humor here.) As stated in the letter I am very excited to see the progress your child will make in reading this year and I cannot wait to be apart of the journey. Happy Reading!

August has come and gone! I cannot believe that September is already upon us. We are learning a lot here at Northside, and it is just going to get better. Thanks for all that you have done so far this school year. The parent support has been AMAZING!

Welcome to my first-grade classroom at Northside Elementary! I am looking forward to working with both you and your child throughout the upcoming school year. I anticipate a fun, exciting, and productive school year for all of us! Before coming to the classroom I was a stay at home mom to twins, and was busy completing my Masters Degree in Special Education. I am eager to get into the classroom.
This is my first year at Northside and my first year teaching. I am so excited that I get to have your children as my first students. It will be a learning year for us all, I am sure! This blog will be used as a form of communication and information. This is the first time I have ever blogged, and I hope it becomes a useful avenue in communicating better with you. This blog will be a place where you can find all important dates, events, homework, educational websites for home, and student written response on what we did that week.
