November 19th, 2008

Nov. 26-28 - NO SCHOOL - Thanksgiving Break

We will be doing the GRADE and DIBELS tests soon. Please continue to practice the areas that were discussed in your child’s conference. The GRADE test will be testing rhyming, beginning and ending sounds with pictures, beginning and ending sounds using letters, listening comprehension, same and different words, etc.

The DIBELS test will be testing initial sounds using pictures, letter naming in 1 minute, phoneme segmentation fluency (cat = c/a/t), and nonsense word fluency (letter sounds in 1 minute). Please continue to practice these areas at home with your child. We will discuss how they did on the GRADE and DIBELS tests shortly after the tests are graded.

Congratulations to Alli, Ariah, and Nanci! They were chosen as our first Star Strut Students for good behavior and great gains since the beginning of the school year. Keep up the good work ladies!

There were so many boys and girls that have had good behavior and have made gains that it was hard to choose just three. We can’t wait for our next Star Strut to choose more!

If you have fee waiver, you must still pay the $6.25 if you would like to purchase a t-shirt for your child.
