Frequently Asked Questions
I will be adding to the following list as questions arise that I think would be useful to others:
Q: How long can I keep my blog here?
Through at least June 1, 2009. I lease a very expensive dedicated webserver for my consulting business at www.kentuckyclassroom.com and use that server to host this free site. So, as long as my consulting business continues to be profitable allowing me to continue leasing a server, then I will continue to provide this free service. I renew my server lease every May/June for a complete year, so if you start using this site for a school-year, you can be confident that you will be able to continue using it for the complete school-year.
Q: If you ever need to close the site, will I lose my blog content?
No! I do daily, weekly, and monthly back-ups of this site. If, for any reason, I have to close this site, I will, upon request, provide you a complete back-up of your blog content.
Q: Do you ever delete blogs from this site?
Yes, but only if: 1) You don’t adhere to the terms-of-use on this site, or 2) You DO NOT login to, or post to, your blog for a period of 6 months. In this case, I assume the blog has been abandoned and reserve the right to delete it.
Q: What if I see something that I think is “inappropriate” on this site?
Then please report it to me at abuse@kentuckyclassroom.com This is for use by school teachers, so if you see something that you wouldn’t want your kids to see, then I probably don’t want to see it on this site.
Q: I teach in a Kentucky private school or homeschool. Can I use this site?
Yes! If your email domain is not in my database, then you will not be able to create a blog here, but just email me at info@kentuckyclassroom.com and I will either create a blog for you and send you the login information, or I will enter your private school’s email domain into my database to allow you, and others in your school, to create blogs here.
Q: Do you provide support for blogs on this site…in other words…if I have a problem, can I email you for help?
Unless you are a current student in one of my classes, then, No! It’s not that I don’t want to, but I simply don’t have the time to provide the support. I do provide some video tutorials to help you learn to use this site and I may set-up a discussion board in the future so users can help each other, but I can’t provide individual technical support on this free site. If your school or district would like to contract with me to set-up a custom, dedicated application like this for your school or district, then I can include support as part of that contract…see details here.
